On this beautiful day we can recognize that it’s officially spring. As I make my way into the garden, I see the bluebirds who are making their home ready for a new brood.
Thanks to a very generous Christmas gift, in addition to the old timey bluebird boxes in my yard, there is now a 21st century model that offers both an internal and an external camera with Wi-Fi connection. Now, if that isn’t just too fancy for Bobby and Belle Bluebird.
Elsewhere in the yard, it’s a joy to see the Atamasco lily blooming, the bright green emerging leaves of the hornbeam tree, and the blueberry bees, busy at their work. As for my work, I’m making sure to water the seedlings that have recently sprouted, trimming dead branches out of trees and shrubbery, and adding compost around shrubs and trees.
