PROGRAM – “We have whales in the Gulf of Mexico? (Yes, we do!)
Speaker: Christian Wagley – Healthy Gulf, Coastal Organizer FL/AL
Learn more about the role of whales in Gulf nutrient cycling, the threats they face, and conservation actions needed to protect them. We’ll focus on the incredible story of the Rice’s whale—a species that lives only in the Gulf–the science that led to its designation as a new species just three years ago, and how the whales intersect with open ocean birds and fish.
Please join us at Pensacola State College (PSC), Baroco Science Center (Room 2142, across the breezeway from the planetarium), Bldg 21. (Don’t let Google Maps throw you off…. It’s not at the airport!) South side of PSC, between 9th & 12th Aves.
Open to the public. Refreshments served after the program.
