Some of you might be familiar with the garden shop that operated in Gulf Breeze, called The Garden Gate. This shop was opened by Emily Peterson and her daughters in 1997, offering native plants and perennials, along with the information to grow them. The Garden Gate also held classes and seminars on a range of garden and nature topics, and published a monthly newsletter with information on local gardening. The shop closed in 2016 after nineteen years in operation, but Emily has continued to provide landscape consultations and designs, and to connect with local gardeners.
Our definition of a garden is a place where people and nature connect in mutual support.
